Well I Well I took the plunge and bought 600 ft of PVC pipe. It was around 80 bucks. Not bad for so many feet. I bought the 3/4 inch pipe since it was cheaper than the half inch. I was thinking I saw a Ebay listing for 200 corners for 22 bucks.. well I couldn't find the great deal on the corner fittings and infact they are quite costly. Soo For all the fitting I we need for all the boxes it will be 159 bucks and change.. Whew!!! That is quite a chunk of change.. and on top of that there is the T-shirts I make and I am running a tab over 300 bucks.. I haven't bought the fittings yet but I have to talk it over with Steve and see what he says.. in the mean time if you have some extra cash or want to donate to the cause you can send me money at saulster@sbcglobal.net via paypal I have an account there. Most likely I will pay via PayPal so I will have an account and all money will go directly to buying stuff for the Aliens game. SHEETs.. I need more CLOTH!!! Soo if you have any Bed Sheets or large pieces of linen please contact me and I will go and pick them up.
Take Care,
Saul

My construction foreman came up with this design on the fly. He couldn't find corners so he had to use Tees and Elbows. So he came up with this design. It kinda looks like to me like the Star Wars AT-ATs??? the little two legged machines. I told him I wanted more stablity. We thought we could get corners at a cheap price but the fittings would make each frame cost about 16 bucks just for the fittings.. And that would put our cost in over 350 bucks.. So we use the less costing fitting and each frame will cost around $3.69 pricey but still doable. Wish us luck.. Our current design would use 1/2" pipes with 8 elbows and 6 Tees. IF you can thing of a better design don't hesitate to leave us a note.

All PVC pipe bought.
By: ,

HEy there gang,
I just went to home Depot and got the 1/2 pipe and fitting. All is bought. It will be enough to make 21 frames.. plus one we already have. So we will have 22. That should be enough for the first time and see how it goes.. The next thing is the sheets. I was able to get 10 at the flea market for 7 bucks. The thing we need to do with them first is wash all of them and then dye them. That should be alot of fun. I have never dyed fabric in my life. Soo we will see how it goes. after that we will see how to attach the material to the frames. Also I was able to buy 20 T-shirts for this years Aliens T-Design. If anybody has a design or picture to use.. Please respond and tell us your two cents. So things are looking pretty good.

Well with a case of Step throat I was out for most of this week. Last week we had no luck in finding alot of dark colored fabric/material to drape over our newly devised PCV pipe barriers. Steven who seemed to forget about his end of the deal said he could make one up in five mintues.. Well its been two weeks and a few more sets of five minutes and we still don't have the PCV pipe frames. The problem I had with this idea is that people kept saying it was three months til KublaCon but I know how time flies. So I am still optimistic about our new PCV frames. I think the hard part will be the fabric to drape or hang off the pcv frams. So that is where we stand I plan on going to a couple of other fabric stores, thrift stores or even a flea market this weekend. Also any good pics that you find out there would be good. I am looking specifically for pictures of Aliens that would could be printed on iron on T-shirts to give out at KublaCon. There is a new Aliens PC/console game coming out and it looks way cool.. Glad its coming out for the 360 cause I don't think my vid card can handle the PC version. See ya all soon.

I had an idea to better incorporate the staircase into our game. I know its not used in the boardgame but I think it could be fun to add this option. I'm still debating the functionality of my proposal. In order to give Marines more of a fighting chance we might want to allow Marines to " go down " staircase to escape. Marines usually just make it to staircase before their progress is stalled and eventually overrun so I'm thinking Marines should be allowed to retreat down stairs and possibly head down a corridor and plant something like a satchel charge or remaining greanades at the heat exchange tower. I'm sure the tower protrudes thru many levels. not just where the Queen has her eggs. If marines go down stairs we can allow them like 2 move actions before Aliens recommence to attack them. Obviously specifics have to be worked out but that more or less is my general idea. What do ya think???

RE: Aliens Staircase, The bypass.

Well I think the idea of a by pass is a good one.. I think better than a short cut to victory. That might be too much help for marines.. I think a bypass would be good but their has to be an inherint danger. Like a short cut you spend one rnd in the staircase and you get double moves when yoiu come out.. Of course aliens will see you go in?? maybe or maybe not depending on how we use that mechanic. Maybe we can have a cardboard cut out of a marine or but them in the staircase, on one end.. then next turn they just stay there.. the next turn they may exit on the other side with either a double move or an ordinary move. Could be a surprising thing for the aliens who are kicking back at the back of the room????

Looking for some good pics that we can use in various way at our Aliens: Live Action Boardgame. I have a few pictures and drawings but I would like something we can put on a poster that won't use up lots of ink. Post some links to websites where I can see good examples of Aliens pictures.
