Cost Overruns....
Apr 5 2008, 2:21 AM EDT | Post edited: Apr 5 2008, 2:21 AM EDT
Well I Well I took the plunge and bought 600 ft of PVC pipe. It was around 80 bucks. Not bad for so many feet. I bought the 3/4 inch pipe since it was cheaper than the half inch. I was thinking I saw a Ebay listing for 200 corners for 22 bucks.. well I couldn't find the great deal on the corner fittings and infact they are quite costly. Soo For all the fitting I we need for all the boxes it will be 159 bucks and change.. Whew!!! That is quite a chunk of change.. and on top of that there is the T-shirts I make and I am running a tab over 300 bucks..
I haven't bought the fittings yet but I have to talk it over with Steve and see what he says.. in the mean time if you have some extra cash or want to donate to the cause you can send me money at saulster@sbcglobal.net via paypal I have an account there. Most likely I will pay via PayPal so I will have an account and all money will go directly to buying stuff for the Aliens game.
SHEETs.. I need more CLOTH!!! Soo if you have any Bed Sheets or large pieces of linen please contact me and I will go and pick them up.

Take Care,

Saul

1. RE: Cost Overruns....actual cost for th 3/4" pvc pipe fittings....

Hey there People,

Well the pipe was cheaper but the fittings are proving to be too costly. The cost of each corner would be $1.43 for a box we need 8 and it would result in a box cost just for fitting to be around 16 bucks. for 100 would be 1600 bucks..
Then I realized(actually Jolene asked)why 100 structures??? I only need.. 50??? then I looked at the board and I counted around 25-28 barriers.. Sooo if I take back the 3/4 inch pipe and get the 1/2 inch pipe the fittings are much cheaper and if I scale back the number from 100 to 25 then the cost for the structures are around 220 bucks for the frames..
I have already collected 13 bed sheets and just need a few more I would say another 20 sheets would be enough to cover the frames.. next comes dyeing the sheets and seeing how to attach them to the frames or just drape them over the frames.. Soo things are not looking nearly as bad as last night..

See ya..

Well ignore all the previous post on this subject. I had all my numbers wrong and I am back within my operating budget for the frames, sheets and T-shirts. Whew..
